The aim of the US Government is to make the environment a carbon free place. And so it has decided to launch many Energy Savings programs through Cash for Caulkers and Cash for Appliances. Homes that undertake various weatherization projects will be eligible for cash in the form of tax credits and tax rebates. Homeowners will be highly beneficial by these programs. They will not only save on energy and maintenance costs but also will save a lot of money through tax credits and rebates.
Every new construction and a renovation project are eligible for the Home Star program. The building contractors and home owners work closely so as to achieve a common goal. A building contractor should successfully build a new project adhering to all the Building Performance Institute terms and conditions. A homeowner should cooperate with the contractors and the auditors so as to promote an energy efficient home. These homes in the long run will reduce the maintenance costs and utility bills to a great extent.
Through these Energy Savings program they are also getting cash in the form of rebates which means that they are saving money indirectly by not paying the entire tax liability. If every home or building in the United States starts upgrading to Energy Star appliances it will do a lot of help to the environment. Having a proper building envelope and a good insulation will do a lot of help in reducing the energy and building maintenance costs in the long run.
