The environment will become much cleaner and less polluted when we start using Home Star energy products in every home and building. For existing homes and old buildings it is a difficult task to upgrade because it involves investing in money as well as time.
And to encourage this habit, the Federal Government had introduced Home Star Program. This program will enable the homeowners to get some benefits through rebates and subsidies on the products. Only the US homes are eligible for these rebates and they must be referred by certified contractors.
The homeowner must be eligible for a direct Home Star rebate at the time of purchase of these energy savings items. The programs that currently exist are Cash for Green Energy Program Silver Star Rebate and the Gold Star Rebate. The Silver Star Rebate program would ideally allow rebates ranging from $1000 to $1500.
Here the homeowners wish to upgrade their homes with energy efficient products to simplify the energy consumption. The rebates include on products such as insulation, water heaters, windows, roofing, duct sealing, doors, etc.
The Gold Star rebate program will allow a rebate up to $3000. If the homeowner agrees to upgrade with more retrofits in the current cooling and heating systems or would like to upgrade his entire home, he would be eligible for this Gold Star rebate program.
It all depends on the homeowners and the contractors need to motivate them for such an upgrade. This way both would contribute towards a better environment and greener surroundings.
